Recently I participated in Elaine Bennett’s “Your Best Story: a Virtual Salon,” which featured interviews with a dozen people from the business and nonprofit worlds, plus a couple of writers, a quilter, and an editor—me. Elaine Bennett is an award-winning speechwriter who’s been praised by Warren Buffett. And she’s a damn good interviewer. We talked about what makes a good story, how to grab the reader or listener, and what your editor is really thinking.
